Strongest woman in the world turns out to be a man
American athlete Jamie Booker has been disqualified from the women’s Strongman world championship.
The Strongman World Championship in Arlington, Texas, ended in scandal. The winner of the open female category, Jamie Booker, was disqualified after it was revealed that she is biologically male.
Booker won the weightlifting competition, held November 20–23, by the narrowest margin – just one point ahead of British athlete Andrea Thompson. However, two days later the Strongman organizers announced Booker’s disqualification and awarded the title to Thompson.
Organizers stated they were unaware of Booker’s biological sex until the competition ended. “Had we been aware, or had this been declared at any point before or during the competition, this athlete would not have been permitted to compete in the Woman’s Open category. We are clear – competitors can only compete in the category for the biological sex recorded at birth,” the official statement reads.
According to Strongman archives, Booker began competing in female events only in June of this year. In the bio of their TikTok account, Booker referred to themselves as “the strongest lesbian in the world.”
"Official Strongman is inclusive and proud to run events which do not discriminate against athletes based on personal characteristics. Any athlete is welcome. But it is our responsibility to ensure fairness and ensure athletes are assigned to men or women’s categories based on whether they are recorded as male or female at birth," the outlet says.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has launched an investigation into the incident, declaring that he “will not allow the radical left to sacrifice the integrity of girls' sports on the altar of their delusional transgender agenda.”
Thompson has become a sudden prominent figure in the movement to protect women's sports from male competitors, with the recognition of her as the champion now being celebrated as a flashpoint in the movement.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the IOC will ban transgender participation in the Olympic Games.
