Speaking at a rally in Caracas, Maduro referred to the spiritual struggle for the rights of Venezuelans and addressed the issue of tensions with the United States.

On 19 November 2025, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, at a religious rally in Caracas, declared Jesus Christ the “only ruler” of the country and cited a biblical verse amid heightened tensions with the United States, according to Agenzia Nova.

Addressing the gathered faithful, Maduro stated that he recognizes Jesus Christ as the “Lord and Ruler of Venezuela” and described Him as the head of the “spiritual struggle” for the rights of the Venezuelan people and all humanity. The president emphasized that he gives glory to the Holy Spirit and considers Almighty God the true Lord.

Maduro quoted Scripture – “Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit” – linking the verse to the current military–political tensions between Caracas and Washington. According to him, it is spiritual strength, not military force, that determines the fate of the country.

Continuing his address, the president stressed that “the only true God is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,” who, as he put it, “protects and will continue to protect the homeland.” He also stated that the Miraflores presidential palace is becoming an “altar of God’s glory,” open to the people.

The rally was held at the Miraflores residence and was broadcast live on the state television channel VTV. The event was attended by clergy, Maduro’s wife Cilia Flores, and his son, Nicolás Maduro Guerra, who oversees religious affairs within the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that Trump said millions of people had "needlessly died" in the war in Ukraine.
