Synod of Czech Lands & Slovakia Church expresses concern over UOC persecution
The Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia condemned the systematic persecution of the clergy and believers of the UOC in Ukraine.
On November 11, 2025, a meeting of the Synod of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia (OCCLS) was held in Bratislava, during which the Synod members expressed deep concern over the systematic legal and physical persecution of the faithful, clergy, and hierarchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This was reported by UOJ in the Czech Republic.
In their statement, the Synod expressed solidarity with all those suffering in the conflicts in Ukraine and emphasized the need to uphold the fundamental human right to freedom of religion. According to the Synodals, freedom of faith is an integral part of human dignity and must be protected regardless of political or military circumstances.
