In Uganda, Muslim beats his wife and children for converting to Christianity
On learning that his wife and children attended the service and converted to Christianity, the man demolished the church building.
On October 15, 2025, in the village of Muguti (Uganda), a man professing Islam demolished a local church building and attacked his wife and two children after learning of their conversion to Christianity, reports Morning Star News.
According to the publication, on October 12, the family attended a service at the Fit for Jesus Evangelical Church and decided to practice the Christian faith. The next day, the man returned home, dragged his wife outside, and beat her. The children tried to protect their mother, resulting in the son suffering a broken arm. The victims were taken to the hospital, where they spent three days.
Neighbors witnessed the attack. According to them, the man shouted at his wife, "You are disobeying and denouncing the religion of Allah, and you ought to die," and then fled.
While the family was in the hospital, on October 15, the same man, along with a group of unknown individuals, came to the Fit for Jesus Church and demolished it.
Church leaders have reported the incident at the police station in Muguti. The attack was the latest of many instances of persecution of Christians in Uganda that Morning Star News has documented.
According to Morning Star News, the attacker is in hiding. Uganda’s constitution and other laws provide for religious freedom, including the right to propagate one’s faith and convert from one faith to another.
