Verkhovna Rada approves Berezhna as Minister of Culture

Berezhna positions herself as a believer of the UGCC.
On October 21, 2025, the official website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine published a message about the appointment of Tetiana Berezhna as Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy and Minister of Culture of Ukraine. Her candidacy was supported by 266 MPs, as noted in the Parliament's message.
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, presenting Berezhna's candidacy, emphasized that during the war, culture cannot be a secondary issue. According to her, the new head of the Ministry of Culture has significant experience in public administration, international projects, and cultural diplomacy.
Speaking to the deputies, Berezhna stated that "culture is the foundation of our state because it explains who we are, why we are, and what for".
Berezhna positions herself as a believer of the UGCC.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Dumenko discussed the implementation of the law banning the UOC with Berezhna. Following the meeting, Dumenko awarded Berezhna a commemorative medal, which the media interpreted as symbolic support from the OCU for the newly appointed minister.
