In Vyshhorod, parish claimed by OCU declares its faithfulness to UOC
The faithful of the Panteleimon parish supported their rector.
After the visit of the cleric OCU Vitaliy Bosenko, who registered duplicate documents for the Panteleimon Church of the UOC in Vyshhorod and tried to persuade the faithful to go to the jurisdiction of Dumenko, the Orthodox community made an official statement about their position.
"The religious community of the Church of the Holy Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon in Vyshhorod has existed since 2014. Our rector is Father Dionysiy Denysenko," the faithful noted.
They emphasized that they would not come under the jurisdiction of an unknown individual, Vitaliy Bosenko.
"We do not know who this person is, and he has no relation to our church. We ask Vitaliy Bosenko not to disturb our rector or our parishioners. We remain within the bosom of the Holy Orthodox Canonical Church and offer our joint prayers to our Lord Jesus Christ," the statement says.
The parishioners also called on others to support the community's post with reactions and comments, emphasizing their intention to remain faithful to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and their rector.
As reported by the UOJ, in Vyshhorod, representatives of the OCU are attempting to seize the Panteleimon Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, despite the fact that their own buildings in the town are already standing empty. This was reported by the rector of the church, Archpriest Dionysiy Denysenko. On Fr. Dionysiy's namesake day, the cleric of the OCU, Vitaliy Bosenko, came to his church. He stated that he wanted to "congratulate the rector and agree on the fate of the church".
