Metropolitan Nikodim called on the faithful to strengthen their faith and loyalty to Christ, reminding them of the prayerful intercession of Saint Spyridon.

On October 7, 2025, on the feast day of St. Martyr Galacteon of Vologda, the Church of Saint Spyridon, the Miracle Worker of Trimythous, was consecrated at the Tryhirya Transfiguration Monastery of the Zhytomyr Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This was reported by the press service of the Zhytomyr Eparchy of the UOC.

The solemn service was led by Metropolitan Nikodim of Zhytomyr and Novohrad-Volynsky, concelebrated by Archbishop Diodor of Yuzhne and Archbishop Kirill of Byshiv. During the consecration, a procession with relics took place around the church, involving numerous clergy and pilgrims.

After the service, Metropolitan Nikodim congratulated the brethren and the faithful on this important event, wishing that Saint Spyridon would become a patron and intercessor in prayer for all who turn to him with faith. The archpastor noted that the new church would become a spiritual center where believers could find comfort and strength in faith.

The bishop also congratulated the abbot of the monastery, Archimandrite Galacteon (Korynchuk), on his name day and the 40th anniversary of his priestly ordination, wishing him spiritual and physical strength in his future pastoral ministry.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that in Kedyna Hora, a worship cross destroyed by activists of the OCU was restored.
