UOC hierarch participates in monastic congress of Polish Orthodox Church

The congress participants emphasized the importance of spiritual brotherhood and unity of the Orthodox Church, united by common prayer.

On September 2, 2025, with the blessing of Metropolitan Mark of Khust and Vynohradiv, the vicar of the Khust Eparchy, Bishop Mark of Rakhiv, participated in the congress of Orthodox monasticism of the Polish Orthodox Church. This was reported by the press service of the Khust Eparchy.

The event took place at the Monastery of the Protection of the Mother of God in the Polish village of Turkowice and was held with the blessing of the Primate of the Polish Church, Metropolitan Sawa of Warsaw and All Poland.

The congress was preceded by a festive Divine Liturgy. During the service, hierarchs of the Polish Orthodox Church prayed: Archbishop Abel of Lublin and Chełm, vicars of the Warsaw-Bielsko Diocese Archbishop Grzegorz of Bielsko and Bishop Paweł of Hajnówka, as well as the hierarch of the UOC, Bishop Mark of Rakhiv. The joint prayer was a testament to the unity of the Orthodox Church and spiritual brotherhood.

After the service, a monastic congress was held, at which Bishop Mark spoke. The vicar of the Khust Eparchy presented a report on the topic "The Influence of Monastic Life on the Destructive Phenomena of the Modern World." In his speech, the archpastor emphasized the special role of monasticism in the spiritual strengthening of society and confronting the moral and social challenges of modernity.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that the annual Orthodox youth festival was held in the Volyn Eparchy.
