Metropolitan Vissarion of Ovruch returns to services after surgery

On July 28, the Day of the Baptism of Rus', Metropolitan Vissarion celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the ancient St. Basil Church of the city of Ovruch.
Metropolitan Vissarion of Ovruch and Korosten returned to performing services after undergoing heart surgery, reports Orthodox Life with reference to its sources in the Ovruch Eparchy of the UOC.
On July 24, 2025, the archbishop led the patronal feast at the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ in the city of Korosten, Zhytomyr region. The lower church of the cathedral is consecrated in honor of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Princess Olga.
On the Day of the Baptism of Rus, July 28, Metropolitan Vissarion celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the ancient St. Basil's Church in the city of Ovruch.
After the service, the bishop, together with the clergy and numerous believers, proceeded in a cross procession to the monument of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Grand Prince Vladimir, where a thanksgiving prayer service was held.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that Metropolitan Vissarion was taken to the Shalimov Institute hospital in Kyiv for heart surgery.
