Car-based gay pride parade to be held in Kharkiv

The seventh Kharkiv Pride will take place under the slogan “Together for Equality and Victory.”
From August 30 to September 6, Kharkiv will host a week-long Pride celebration under the banner “Together for Equality and Victory.”
LGBTQ+ activists will organize an educational PrideFest, a memorial event honoring LGBTQ+ soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces who have died, as well as a march in the format of a car-based AutoPride.
Organizers emphasize that all events of Kharkiv Pride will be held in accordance with Ukrainian law and adapted to the conditions of wartime.
Comments on Kharkiv Pride’s Instagram page have been mostly negative.
“Shame on Ukraine. I hope it turns out like in Kyiv, where a national march took place with normal people who have a proper vision for the future of our country – not people like you who disgrace Ukraine,” wrote user zahariiiik.
“Will the military recruitment office be participating?” asked ermola75luda.
“And will you be honoring non-LGBTQ+ soldiers?” asked wudzyyyy.
Previously, the UOJ reported that a gay pride parade was held in Kyiv on the eve of All Saints’ Day.
