Multi-thousand procession takes place to monastery in Odesa region

UOC pilgrims have overcame 10 kilometers to the Intercession Monastery, where they celebrated the anniversary of the shrine and the day of the miraculous Tikhvin Icon.
On July 6, 2025, in the Odessa region, a thousands-strong religious procession took place to the Holy Intercession Monastery in the village of Marynivka. Pilgrims walked about 10 kilometers.
The procession was accompanied by the singing of church hymns. At the entrance to the holy monastery, the worshippers were solemnly greeted by Metropolitan Agafangel of Odessa and Izmail, together with bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
On the same day, a festive Divine Liturgy was held in the monaster to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the monastery foundation and the day of veneration of the miraculous Tikhvin icon of the Mother of God. The service was led by Metropolitan Agafangel, concelebrated by Metropolitans Filaret (of Lviv), Varsonofy (of Vinnytsia), Viktor (of Khmelnytskyi), Archbishop Sylvester, and vicar bishops of the Odessa Eparchy.
After the service, a solemn religious procession took place around the monastery. At the conclusion of the celebration, Metropolitan Agafangel addressed those present with a sermon, thanked God for His mercies, and called for the preservation of faith and prayer for peace in Ukraine.
Earlier the UOJ reported that 5,000 believers walked in a religious procession from Chernivtsi to Khreshchatyk.
