Nuns of UOC participate in international song festival in Poland

The festival took place with the blessing of the Primate of the Polish Orthodox Church.
On June 15, 2025, the 9th International Festival dedicated to the Mother of God was held at the cultural center of the Polish city of Bielsk Podlaski, with the choir of nuns from the St. George’s Metochion of the Rivne Eparchy of the UOC among the participants. This was reported by the press service of the Rivne Eparchy.
The festival "Under the Protection of the Mother of God" was held on the day of veneration of the Bielsk Icon of the Mother of God "Hodegetria" with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Sawa.
As noted by the press service of the Polish Orthodox Church, eight choirs from Poland, Romania, Ukraine, and Serbia participated in the festival this year.
The sisters of the St. George’s Metochion performed four church hymns dedicated to the Most Holy Theotokos.
"The sisters' choir created an atmosphere of prayer, silence, and deep inner unity. Their voices became a testimony of living faith and love for the Mother of God," the message states.
The day before, the Rivne nuns joined the celebrations on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Orthodox school named after St. Luke of Crimea in the city of Bielsk Podlaski.
The St. Luke Schoold was founded in 2015 with the blessing and support of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church. It is not only an educational institution but also a spiritual home for many children.
The celebrations began with the Divine Liturgy led by the vicar of the Warsaw-Bielsk Diocese, Archbishop Grzegorz of Bielsk. The Primate of the Polish Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Sawa of Warsaw and All Poland, also prayed during the service.
As the UOJ reported, the choir of the Volyn Eparchy became a prize-winner of the international festival in Poland.
