The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, stated that negotiations between Ukraine and Russia in the Vatican are unlikely, reports RBK.
"I want to say not to waste intellectual abilities on working out options that are not very realistic. To imagine the Vatican as a place for negotiations is somewhat inelegant,» the resource quoted Lavrov.
Lavrov emphasized that Russia and Ukraine are "Orthodox countries" and the meeting of their delegations "on a Catholic platform" will, in his view, would be "not very comfortable" for the Vatican itself.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that, according to Trump, negotiations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation should take place in the Vatican.
