Orthodox residents of Odesa honor the Iveron Icon of Most Holy Theotokos
Metropolitan Agafangel blessed the flock after the service.
On April 22, 2025, Bright Tuesday, the believers of the Odesa Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church prayerfully honored the Iveron Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos. The eparchial press service published a video of the solemn service at the Iveron Monastery in Odesa.
Metropolitan Agafangel of Odesa and Izmail, along with the vicar bishops and priests of the eparchy, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Paschal rite.
The Iveron Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos is one of the most venerated icons in the Orthodox world. The celebration of this icon takes place several times a year, one of which is observed every Bright Tuesday.
After the service, Metropolitan Agafangel sprinkled the gathered faithful with holy water and blessed the flock, asking God for protection for the believers, their families, and all the residents of Odesa during these days.
As reported by teh UOJ, during Great Lent, several monastic tonsures were performed in the Odesa Eparchy.
