Trump: "We're honoring Jesus Christ and bringing religion back in America"

“Easter is a special, and it's one of our favorite periods of time,” the President of the United States affirmed.
On Bright Monday, April 21, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump declared that “religion is coming back to America.” He made the statement during the opening of Easter celebrations at the White House, according to WhiteHouse on X.
“Easter is a special, and it's one of our favorite days, it's one of our favorite periods of time. We're honoring Jesus Christ, and we are going to honor Jesus Christ very powerfully – throughout our lives, not just now,” Trump said as he opened the event.
According to the president’s estimate, around 40,000 people were expected to attend the celebration throughout the day.
“We are bringing religion back to America. We’re bringing back a lot of things back, but religion is coming back to America,” Trump proclaimed.
The event began just a few hours after the passing of Pope Francis. Trump also announced a proclamation ordering flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of the late Pontiff, who died the day after Easter at the age of 88.
“He [Pope Francis – Ed.] was a good man. He worked hard. He loved the world, and it is an honor to do that,” Trump said.
As previously reported by the UOJ, the Vice President of the United States held a meeting at the Vatican to discuss peace and religious freedom.
