On October 14, a court hearing will take place regarding the eviction of monks from the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.

The lawyer for the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Archpriest Nikita Chekman, reported on his Telegram channel that today, October 14, 2024, at 2:00 PM, a court session will be held at the Northern Commercial Court of Appeal regarding the eviction of the Monastery's monks.

At the session, a motion for the disqualification of the judge due to his biased attitude towards representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will be considered. The lawyers are hoping for the motion to be granted and that further proceedings will be conducted by an independent and impartial court.

Archpriest Nikita called on believers for prayerful support, expressing hope for a just decision.

As reported by the UOJ, the church’s defence previously published a video featuring a serviceman who wishes to defend the monastery’s monks in court, as they are facing expulsion from the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
