Media: A delegation from the Ecumenical Patriarchate is heading to Ukraine
The composition of the delegation from the Ecumenical Patriarchate, whose arrival the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) reportedly fears, has been revealed.
A Ukrainian Telegram channel, citing its sources, reported that a delegation from the Patriarchate of Constantinople will visit Kyiv on August 20-21, with the stated purpose of addressing the religious situation in Ukraine.
The delegation will include Archbishop Ilarion of Winnipeg, Metropolitan Job of Pisidia, and the Rev. Patriarchal Deacon Epiphanios Kamianovych.
As previously reported by the UOJ, a year ago, Dumenko urged Patriarch Bartholomew not to send a delegation to Ukraine. Sources indicate that the head of the Ecumenical Patriarchate decided to send the delegation after the number of forceful seizures of churches had reached a critical level.
