Zelensky: More than 2,500 Ukrainians among the Righteous Among the Nations

On May 14, the Day of Remembrance of Ukrainians who saved Jews during the Second World War was celebrated.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated in his Telegram channel that 2,659 Ukrainians became Righteous Among the Nations for saving Jews during the Second World War.
Zelensky noted that each story of the Righteous Among the Nations is a personal victory of a person over Nazism.
"In the darkest circumstances, when our people could not yet know when the war would end, they did not betray the best that is in the heart of everyone. Risking themselves, they saved those whom the Nazis brought destruction to," he wrote.
As reported by the UOJ, Ukrainian rabbis told Zelensky that he is an example of fearlessness for the country.
