Zelensky will consider the petition to ban the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine.
President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to consider a petition to ban the Russian Orthodox Church on the territory of Ukraine, as it has collected the necessary 25,000 signatures for this. This is stated on the website of the President.
The author of the petition, Oleksiy Honcharenko, a deputy from the European Solidarity party, in addition to the ban on the ROC, demands to terminate the lease agreement ahead of schedule and return all property items leased by the UOC to state ownership.
Recall that the petition was posted on the website of the President on November 26, 2022.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Honcharenko had registered a petition demanding to take the Kyiv-Pechersk, Pochaiv and Sviatogorsk Lavra from the UOC.
