The Director has already expressed his gratitude to the Committee. "Well, I don’t know, thanks to colleagues. It all somehow passed me by. Well, now I need to say yes," said Konchalovsky.

The film tells about the people whose lives intersected during World War II. In the center of the plot is the fate of the Russian emigrant Olga, participating in the French resistance, a French collaborator Jules and German SS officer Helmut. The main role in the film is played by the wife of the director Julia Vysotskaya. The film also starred Viktor Sukhorukov, Peter Kurt and other famous actors.

At 73rd Venice international film festival, «Paradise» received the «Silver Lion» for best Director.
