Borispol deputy is tried for assaulting All-Ukrainian Cross Procession

Borispol district court considers an administrative case of deputy of Borispol City Council Yaroslav Godunok on assaults of the participants of All-Ukrainian Cross Procession. It is reported by the Borispol Movement.

The case was opened under article 173 – disorderly conduct given that the deputy had used an obscene and rude language with regard to the participants of the Cross Procession for peace and law enforcers who ensured public order.

Mr. Godunok affirms the case against him is an order “from above” for his active campaign against the procession. “From the very beginning I was against this so called Cross Procession. I will not conceal the fact I did not restrain myself. In particular, I called the pilgrims to go to “Moscow”, cried “Shame”, “Get away Moscow invaders”, “Get away Moscow priests”, “Go to Putin”, the deputy commented the situation.

At the first court session the police presented records from four operative video cameras, which fixed insulting cries “Shame”, “to Moscow” etc.

The third hearing of the court is scheduled for 18 August 2016. There is some preliminary information they are going to listen to the activists who had blocked the road together with Yaroslav Godunok to bar the pilgrims from entering Borispol.

Recall, on July 25 an Eastern wing of the Cross procession passed through the crowd of nationalists. Radicals cried out outraged slogans towards the faithful, threw fresh eggs at them, and demanded to take away the National Guard that defended the participants from provocations. The law enforcers were able to push back the crowd of nationalists.
