DESS files lawsuit against UOC Rovenky Eparchy
A hearing on the DESS lawsuit seeking to terminate the activities of the Rovenky Eparchy has been scheduled for September 30.
The Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal has opened proceedings in a lawsuit filed by the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience (DESS) seeking to terminate the activities of the UOC Rovenky Eparchy. This was reported on the DESS website.
In addition to liquidating the eparchy, representatives of the agency are asking the court to transfer its funds, property and other assets into state ownership.
The panel of judges scheduled a hearing for September 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at 8 Kniaziv Ostrozkykh Street and gave the defendant 15 days to prepare a written response to the lawsuit.
As the UOJ reported, DESS found the Zaporizhzhia Eparchy to be affiliated with the ROC.
