The monastery’s brethren and numerous parishioners prayed during the service in the monastery church. Archpriest Oleksandr Khrapko became Hieromonk Anikita, in honor of the Martyr Anikita of Nicomedia. Archpriest Heorhy Hladysh took the name Gerasimos in honor of St. Gerasimos of the Jordan.
After the completion of the rite, Metropolitan Boholep addressed the newly tonsured hieromonks with words of guidance. The hierarch wished them spiritual courage, patience, and strict observance of the monastic vows taken before God. The abbot of the monastery, Archimandrite Seraphim (Krasnov), thanked the archpastor for his prayers, the performed rite of tonsure, and his spiritual mentorship.
As the UOJ reported, a site for the construction of a new church was consecrated in the Oleksandriia Eparchy.
