Ukrainian Baptists publish list of forcibly mobilized fellow believers
The International Council of Evangelical Christian Baptist Churches has published the names of 54 congregation members affected by forced mobilization, including several who have died.
Baptists in Ukraine have released a list of 54 members of their religious organization who have suffered as a result of forced military mobilization. The list was published by the International Council of Evangelical Christian Baptist Churches, which brings together congregations whose members refuse to participate in warfare on religious grounds.
The names are divided into several categories: believers who refused to take up arms and are being held in military units; those facing prosecution for refusing military service on grounds of conscience; those missing in action; and those who have died.
According to the organization, some of those mobilized were injured during forcible actions by Territorial Recruitment Center officers, while two have died. Believers who refuse armed service are also being threatened with imprisonment.
As the UOJ previously reported, clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church have faced similar violations – several hundred clergymen have been forcibly mobilized, and some have been subjected to pressure by Territorial Recruitment Center officers.
