The Pope's special representative was familiarized with the conditions of detention of prisoners in Kyiv.

The Vatican sent its special representative Cardinal Matteo Zuppi on a visit to Kyiv, where he was shown a camp holding Russian prisoners of war. This was reported by Ukraine's Ambassador to the Vatican Andriy Yurash.

According to Yurash, Ukraine is thereby demonstrating its openness to dialogue and compliance with international norms. He also claims that the camp meets all international requirements and is accessible for visits by monitoring missions.

The cardinal, Andriy Yurash added, attentively listened to the prisoners who wished to tell him something and share their pain.

As the UOJ reported, the Vatican rejected the ROC's accusations of lacking neutrality regarding the war in Ukraine.
