Dumenko called for developing the Lavra "as a common Christian shrine"
Dumenko demanded the final eradication of the "Russian world" from within the walls of the Lavra.
The head of the OCU Epifaniy Dumenko, at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, called for developing the monastery as "a Ukrainian and common Christian shrine" at events dedicated to the opening of the Far Caves. This was reported by the OCU press service.
In his address, Dumenko expressed gratitude to the government and deputies for their "unity and steadfastness" under current conditions. He declared the need to finally "eradicate the spirit of the Russian world," which, according to him, had dominated the monastery for the past several decades.
The head of the OCU believes that within the walls of the Lavra, prayer for the Ukrainian military and the state should be heard constantly. He called on those present to continue working for the good of the homeland.
As the SPJ reported, the UGCC criticized Epifaniy's awarding of Uniate officials
