A serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine beat a chaplain, breaking his jaw.
Employees of the State Bureau of Investigations detained a serviceman of the 425th Separate Assault Regiment "Skelia," who is suspected of beating a military chaplain, reports the SBI press service.
According to the investigation, the incident occurred in May 2025 in the Kharkiv region. It is reported that during the conflict, the chaplain attempted to resolve a dispute between servicemen, after which the suspect struck him in the face several times. The victim was hospitalized with a concussion and a broken jaw.
Furthermore, the investigation believes that a month later the same serviceman attacked a lieutenant colonel, causing him a broken rib.
The SBI stated that the detainee is charged with violating statutory rules governing relations between servicemen and violence against a superior under martial law. He faces a sentence of up to 10 years of imprisonment.
According to the agency, work is also continuing actively in this regiment on investigating other possible cases of physical violence, unlawful deprivation of liberty, threats to use weapons, improper treatment, and failure to provide medical assistance to servicemen.
