A Church of the Entry of the Theotokos of the Russian Orthodox Church in Kursk Oblast Damaged in Shelling

The war in Ukraine continues to strike religious buildings in border regions: a newly built Church of the Entry of the Theotokos in the village of Kulbaki, Glushkovsky District, Kursk Oblast, was damaged as a result of an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the Kursk Diocese of the Russian Church.
According to the diocese, "it became known on July 7, 2026" about the shelling. The exact time when the church was damaged is not specified. The diocese reports that "after being struck by an enemy munition, the church was completely gutted by fire from the inside." The diocese provided no details about the circumstances of the attack or information about any casualties among people.
As the Union of Orthodox Journalists reported, a church of the Dormition Convent of the UOC in Prymorske was destroyed in shelling. Similar cases of damage and destruction of church buildings have been recorded on both sides of the front line throughout the armed conflict.
