EU launches support program for pro-life organizations
Germany’s ALfA and Britain’s SPUC have launched a program to support pro-life organizations across Europe.
The German organization Right to Life for All (ALfA) and the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC) in the United Kingdom have agreed to cooperate in promoting organizations that oppose abortion throughout Europe. Under a new initiative called the EPIC Challenge, non-governmental organizations will receive financial support for projects aimed at protecting unborn children and assisting women facing unplanned pregnancies. This was announced by ALfA.
The program’s budget for its first year will amount to €60,000. One winner will receive a grant of €30,000, while two finalists will each be awarded €10,000. Applications will be accepted from October through November, and the results are expected to be announced before the end of the year.
ALfA Chairwoman Cornelia Kaminski said the initiative is intended to address what she described as an imbalance in society. According to her, abortion rights are being expanded politically across Europe, while organizations defending unborn life often operate with very limited resources. The new program is designed to support effective projects and strengthen the protection of life throughout the continent.
SPUC has been active since 1967 and is one of the oldest pro-life organizations in the United Kingdom. ALfA was founded in Germany as a movement opposing abortion and advocating for the protection of human life from conception.
