Lavra strike sparked my fury, we will bring war back to “Rashka” – Zelensky
The Ukrainian president said the Russian strike on the Dormition Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra made him furious and promised to “bring the war back” to Russian territory.
In an interview with TSN near the walls of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Volodymyr Zelensky said he regards it as a holy site, and that the strike on the Dormition Cathedral provoked his fury.
According to the head of state, the damage to the cathedral caused justified anger both in him and in society, but emotions must be followed by action. “Fury is emotion. It is justified – both among our people and in me. But something must follow fury,” he said. “If they are destroying our holy site like this – that is clear.”
Zelensky emphasized that in his addresses he constantly repeats that “the war must return to Russia.” He said that Ukraine’s defense industry and defense forces have already begun “the process of bringing the war back” to Russian territory. “They hit us every day – and we will respond every day,” he noted, using the derogatory term “Rashka” for Russia.
As an example, the president cited a strike on an oil refinery in the Tyumen region at a distance of more than 2,000 km and promised to increase the range of strikes to 3,000 km and beyond.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the authorities of Ukraine and Russia gave different explanations for the strike on the Lavra.
