As a result of a nighttime drone attack, windows were blown out in the Holy Spirit Cathedral and the altar was damaged.

On June 19, 2026, at about 22:00, Russian forces carried out a drone strike on the grounds of the Holy Spirit Cathedral of the UOC in Kherson. This was reported by the UOC Information and Education Department, citing the press service of the Kherson Diocese.

The blast wave blew out windows in the lower Transfiguration church and damaged the altar area of the cathedral itself. In addition, as a result of the strike, two official vehicles of the Kherson Diocesan Administration were completely destroyed. This is not the first time the cathedral has come under fire.

As SPZh reported, St. Nicholas Church in Dnipro was damaged as a result of overnight Russian shelling.
