UOC eparchies organize summer camps for children
Young believers in the Poltava and Sumy dioceses spent a week at Orthodox camps.
In June 2026, Orthodox children’s camps were held in UOC dioceses. Organizers prepared a rich program for the children, combining spiritual education with active recreation. This was reported by the UOC Information and Education Department.
In Horishni Plavni, Poltava Eparchy, a camp session was held at the Intercession Church. Sunday school pupils prayed, worked, took part in competitions, and swam in the lake. The children also visited an icon-painting workshop and tried their hand as church bell ringers. The central event of the camp was a common Liturgy, during which the participants confessed and received Communion.
In the Sumy Eparchy, young parishioners of the Sts. Seraphim and Sergius Church not only took part in prayers but also learned about the work of rescuers, police officers, and medics. Emergency service workers showed the children special equipment and reminded them of safety rules. The camp program also included a pilgrimage to the Transfiguration Cathedral and tours around the city. The diocese described the five days of rest as a true school of friendship and Christian values.
As the UOJ reported, the “Anfilada na Dumtsi” youth camp opened in the Vinnytsia Eparchy.
