The Church called upon believers to pray and condemned the promotion of family models that contradict Christian teaching.

The Romanian Orthodox Church has expressed concern over the holding of the LGBT+ march in Bucharest. This was reported by the press service of the Romanian Patriarchate (Biroul de Presă al Patriarhiei Române).

In an official communique, the Patriarchate emphasized that the family, based on the marriage of a man and woman and the birth of children, is a gift and blessing from the Lord, as well as the foundation of social life and the upbringing of new generations. The Church regards any public events promoting other models as a troubling phenomenon incompatible with Christian teaching.

The Patriarchate also stated that such events further deepen confusion in the system of spiritual values within a society already suffering from demographic decline and social instability. At the same time, the Church particularly emphasized that Orthodox Christians should respond to such challenges with peace, prayer, and respect for the dignity of every person. Any insults, humiliation, or violence are rejected by the Church as contrary to the Gospel of Christ's love.

As the UOJ reported, Chisinau police dispersed Orthodox believers who were protesting against a gay parade. The confrontation between Orthodox churches and organizers of LGBT marches in countries with strong Orthodox positions remains a regular topic of public discussion in Eastern and Central Europe.
