Metropolitan Mark stripped a cleric of the right to serve for perjury and schism.

On June 10, 2026, the ruling bishop of the Khust Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Mark, issued Decree No. 82 concerning a member of the Holy Trinity Monastery in Khust-Gorodilovo, Hieromonk Nestor (Medvedchuk), according to the diocesan press service.

The hierarch suspended the cleric from priestly ministry for violating his priestly oath and betraying the Church. In the document, his actions were described as perjury and schism. The decree came into force on the day it was signed.

The disciplinary measure followed the monk’s transfer to the structure of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU). On June 9, 2026, Hieromonk Nestor met in Uzhhorod with Viktor Bed. The cleric of the Khust Eparchy of the UOC requested to be accepted into the Mukachevo-Khust Eparchy of the OCU.

The local OCU hierarch accepted the request and appointed the former monk to serve as a priest at the Cathedral of St. Andrew the First-Called in Uzhhorod.

As previously reported, a cleric of the Chernihiv Eparchy was also suspended from ministry.
