During the service, prayers were offered for peace on Ukrainian soil, deliverance from the enemy, the preservation of those who have lost their homes, and God’s blessing upon all who help the needy. The Primate asked the Lord to show mercy to the Ukrainian people, strengthen the soldiers, free the captives, heal the sick, and sustain those deprived of shelter.
A memorial litany was also served during the Liturgy on the third anniversary of the repose of the church composer and regent of the Kyiv Theological Academy, Archimandrite Roman (Podlubniak). Prayers were also offered for the repose of the souls of the defending soldiers, including the warrior Serhiy, who had been killed the day before.
