His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry led the solemn service on the fourth anniversary of the historic UOC Council in Feofania.

On May 27, 2026, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry led the Divine Liturgy at the Panteleimon Convent on the fourth anniversary of the Council of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the UOC Synodal Information and Education Department reports.

Concelebrating with the Primate were Metropolitans Sergiy of Ternopil and Kremenets, Pavel of Vyshhorod and Chornobyl, Meletiy of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna, Clement of Nizhyn and Pryluky, along with other bishops from various eparchies and numerous clergy.

During the service, special petitions were offered to the Lord for peace on Ukrainian soil and for the deliverance of the people from the enemy. Metropolitan Onuphry asked God for mercy for the people, wisdom for the authorities, and strength for Ukraine’s warriors.

After the Liturgy, the Primate addressed the faithful with a reflection on the significance of the Councils of 1992 and 2022, emphasizing that these events preserved the Ukrainian Orthodox Church within the embrace of Divine love.

As reported earlier by the UOJ, the Feofania Council preserved the UOC from militarization. The Council of May 27, 2022, took place in the same monastery and became a key event in the life of the UOC. On this year’s anniversary, the Primate linked those earlier decisions with the Church’s present tasks and stressed the continuation of its course toward preserving unity, love, and peace.
