Priest of Pokrovsk Vicariate of UOC killed in Kostiantynivka shelling
Archpriest Valeriy Voskresensky consciously remained at his parish in the Donetsk region, despite the constant threat of shelling.
Archpriest Valeriy Voskresensky, rector of St. Catherine's Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) in the village of Katerynivka, Donetsk region, was killed in Kostiantynivka as a result of Russian shelling. This was reported by the Telegram channel of the Pokrovsk Vicariate.
For as long as it was possible, Fr. Valeriy carried out his pastoral ministry in his home parish before later serving in Kostiantynivka. Despite the real danger to his life, the priest consciously chose to remain with his flock and did not abandon his parishioners. The exact circumstances and date of his death were not specified in the statement.
The Pokrovsk Vicariate expressed sincere condolences to Fr. Valeriy’s family, loved ones, and parish community.
As the UOJ reported, a UOC priest was killed as a result of shelling in Bilozerka, Kherson region.
