The Bishops’ Council of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia has recognized the righteous life of Hieromonk Seraphim Rose and blessed preparations for his glorification among the Venerable Fathers.

On May 5, 2026, a document of the ROCOR Bishops’ Council was published announcing the beginning of preparations for the church glorification of Hieromonk Seraphim (Rose), UOJ in Germany reports, citing the Council’s message.

Having recognized the righteous course life of the ever-memorable Hieromonk Seraphim (Rose) and the Council has blessed the "process of preparing his ecclesiastical glorification among the ranks of our venerable Fathers."

The message notes that the decision was made in response to numerous requests from the faithful.

Hieromonk Seraphim (Rose) is regarded as one of the best-known Orthodox thinkers of the 20th century. His writings had a profound influence on many people in different countries who came to Orthodoxy.

As previously reported by the UOJ, the Bishops’ Council of the ROCOR decided to begin the process of glorifying Seraphim (Rose) among the saints.
