Ukraine’s chief rabbi said that clergy of the OCU, UGCC, and RCC familiarized themselves with Jewish tradition at a synagogue.

Clergy of the OCU, UGCC, RCC, as well as Protestant denominations, visited Ukraine’s central synagogue in Kyiv in order to “become acquainted with Jewish tradition,” Ukraine’s Chief Rabbi Moshe Reuven Asman said.

“They were given a tour of the synagogue and told about the basics of Jewish law and customs, about prayer and the feasts, and about how the Jewish community in Ukraine lives today. Such meetings are very important. They help us understand one another better, remove unnecessary barriers, and build genuine respect between people of different traditions who today are serving Ukraine together!” Asman wrote.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that an OCU “priest” lit a menorah near his church in Kyiv.
