A UOC priest received the right to wear the epigonation during the liturgy in Košice.

During the Easter service in Košice, Archbishop George of Michalovce-Košice presented a church award to a UOC priest who found refuge in Slovakia after the war began. This was reported by the UOJ in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

With the blessing of Metropolitan Augustine of Bila Tserkva and Bohuslav, UOC cleric Archpriest Vadym Rudyi received the right to wear the epigonation (palitsa). The award ceremony took place during the solemn Easter Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos and Saint John the Merciful.

The diocese noted that Archpriest Vadym, after arriving in Slovakia, continues his spiritual ministry at the cathedral altar and actively participates in the life of the local Orthodox community.

"Axios! He is worthy!" proclaimed the clergy and faithful in the church during the award presentation.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that the Synod of Czech Lands and Slovakia expressed concern about the persecution of the UOC.
