On March 31, 2026, by the blessing of Metropolitan Feodor of Mukachevo and Uzhhorod, in the city of Mukachevo, a cleric of the UOC eparchy performed the Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Unction over displaced children. This is reported by the press service of the Mukachevo Eparchy.

The rector of the Holy Trinity Church, Archpriest Yaroslav Popovych, baptized five children from among the internally displaced persons of the "Barvinok" orphanage, who were forced to leave Dnipro.

"Through the Sacraments of Baptism and Chrismation, the children were joined to the Church of Christ, receiving spiritual care and grace," the statement says.

In addition, the priest performed holy unction over other residents of the institution.

The eparchy notes that the children who found shelter in Transcarpathia are under the constant care of the Church, feeling care and spiritual warmth.

"This event became another testimony of living faith and mercy that unite people in difficult times," the eparchy commented.

As the UOJ wrote, in Kolchyno, the UOC priest's family honored for raising defenders of Ukraine.
