Zelensky announces elimination of “agent network” in religious organizations
The Ukrainian president said the security services had neutralized Russian influence structures that used religious communities as cover for subversive activity.
Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Security Service of Ukraine had dismantled a Russian agent network operating through religious communities. The head of state made the statement in his evening address while commenting on a fresh report from the security service.
According to the president, the SBU is showing “good results” in destroying the occupier and is continuing its systematic work against enemy influence networks. Zelensky stressed that he had been briefed that day specifically on the elimination of such structures, which had used religious communities as cover for their activities.
In addition to neutralizing agents within religious communities, Major General Oleksandr Poklad also reported to the president on the prevention of serious crimes on Ukrainian territory. According to the head of state, Russian forces had been preparing a series of assassination attempts, but operatives carried out timely arrests. Zelensky thanked the SBU for protecting citizens, while noting that he could not yet disclose operational details publicly.
