UOC Social Department in Kyiv supports displaced families
In the capital, families of internally displaced persons received humanitarian assistance with the support of the Primate’s charitable foundation.
On March 14, 2026, staff of the UOC Synodal Department for Social and Humanitarian Affairs distributed food packages to one hundred families of internally displaced persons in Kyiv. The charitable initiative was carried out at the Center for Social and Humanitarian Assistance.
The aid was organized as part of the Church’s ongoing support for those in need through the charitable foundation of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, “Peace Be unto You.” Since the beginning of this year alone, 672 food packages have already been distributed to displaced persons through the Social Department’s relief programs.
Volunteers note that for people who have lost their homes and their ordinary way of life, such support means far more than a simple package of food. In their words, it gives them the sense that there are still people nearby who care and are ready to extend a helping hand in a difficult moment.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the UOC Social Department had delivered charging stations to frontline parishes in the Donetsk region.
