Metropolitan Roman tonsured two sisters into monasticism at the Nativity of the Mother of God Monastery in Putyvl.

On March 12, 2026, Metropolitan Roman of Konotop and Hlukhiv performed monastic tonsure at the Nativity of the Theotokos Molchensky Women's Monastery of the UOC in Putyvl, Sumy region. This was reported by the press service of the Konotop Eparchy.

The newly tonsured sisters received new names. Nun Parthenia was tonsured in honor of Venerable Parthenius of Kyiv, and novice Nadezhda – in honor of Venerable Emilia of Cappadocia.

Nuns Parthenia and Emilia were given large candles that should burn for three days. According to monastic tradition, the new nuns spend this time in the church in continuous prayer, reading the Psalter and offering prayers for the whole world.

Upon completion of the tonsure, Metropolitan Roman addressed those gathered with an archpastoral word. He noted that this event is a great joy, since "the Church has been enriched with new luminaries of the Christian faith." The hierarch also reminded the nuns of the importance of keeping the vows given before God and trusting in the Lord in bearing the monastic cross.

As the UOJ wrote, monastic tonsure was performed at the Intercession Monastery of Kryvyi Rih.
