The Zhytomyr Eparchy has reported the death of defender of Ukraine Veniamin Valeriyovych Ditkovskyi, the son of clergy member Archpriest Valeriy Ditkovskyi.
Veniamin went missing in action on November 7, 2024, in the area of the town of Selydove on the Pokrovsk direction. He was 22 at the time and was serving with the 15th “Kara Dag” Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine. Notification of his death was received three months later. Throughout that time, Metropolitan Nikodym of Zhytomyr and Novohrad-Volynskyi, together with the clergy and faithful of the eparchy, offered prayers for the soldier.
The eparchy leadership expressed condolences to the fallen serviceman’s parents – Archpriest Valeriy and Matushka Mariya – and called on the faithful to pray for the repose of the newly departed. The statement says: “May the Lord grant rest to the soul of warrior Veniamin in His Heavenly Kingdom and give consolation to his loved ones.”
As the UOJ previously reported, a priest’s son of the Chernihiv Eparchy of the UOC was killed at the front.
