Serhiy Dumenko awarded the Deputy Head of the Volyn Regional State Administration with an order for services to the OCU.

On January 31, 2026, the head of the OCU Serhiy Dumenko visited Volodymyr, where he led a religious event at the Dormition Cathedral, from which the authorities expelled the UOC community at the end of 2025.

As reported by the local resource "Rayon Volodymyr", in his speech at the cathedral, Dumenko shared that he had dreamed of serving in the churches seized from the UOC. In particular, at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and the Dormition Cathedral in Volodymyr.

At the event, Dumenko awarded Deputy Head of Volyn Regional State Administration Taras Shkiter with the Order of Prince Volodymyr for his services to the OCU. Dumenko noted Shkiter's special role in expelling UOC parishioners from the Dormition Cathedral and transferring the shrine to the OCU.

Also present at the religious gathering was MP Ihor Huz, who promised that the next shrines that the authorities would take away from the UOC and give to the OCU would be the Sviatohirsk Dormition Zymne Monastery and the Dormition Nyzkynychi Monastery.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that in Volodymyr, security forces beat and abducted the sexton of the UOC cathedral.
