Sybiha urged Iran to “stop drowning its own people in blood.”

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha responded to Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, who had published a critical post about President Zelensky. In his reply, Sybiha used a quotation from the Quran.

“Getting offended at President Zelenskyy’s words is like getting offended at the mirror. As it is said in Surah Az-Zukhruf (43:78): ‘We had certainly brought you the truth, but most of you, to the truth, were averse,’” the foreign minister wrote.

Sybiha told Araghchi that “the world is tired of Dalqaks,” and advised Iran “to stop drowning its own people in blood while lining pockets and fueling numerous wars at the expense of Iranians who yearn for peace and a better life.”

In the Iranian foreign minister’s text, Araghchi said that Zelensky “has been rinsing American and European taxpayers to fill the pockets of his corrupt generals and to confront what he calls an unlawful aggression in violation of the UN Charter [...] The world has had enough of Confused Clowns, Mr. Zelensky. Unlike your foreign-backed and mercenary-infested military, we Iranians know how to defend ourselves and have no need to beg foreigners for help."

Sybiha previously served as Ukraine’s ambassador to Turkey, met frequently with Patriarch Bartholomew, and took part in Phanar religious events together with representatives of the OCU.
