An American legislator made a statement on social media condemning the silence on cases of pressure on believers and demanding that colleagues openly defend religious freedom.

On December 17, 2025, a member of the House of Representatives of the USA, Anna Paulina Luna, made a statement on the social network X, urging American lawmakers not to stay silent about the persecution of Christians.

In her message, the congresswoman emphasized that as an elected representative of the American people, she considers it her duty to maintain solidarity with "brothers and sisters in Christ" who face persecution. She also criticized colleagues who, according to her, use Christianity for political and electoral purposes but prefer to stay silent when believers need protection.

Luna pointed out that such behavior contradicts Christian values, reminding them of biblical calls not to remain indifferent to injustice. According to her, the silence about the persecution of Christians is unacceptable, especially from politicians who publicly declare their faith.

Previously, Anna Paulina Luna stated the inadmissibility of ignoring the persecution of Christians under the presidency of Volodymyr Zelensky. She also reported participating in a meeting with a delegation of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Washington, aimed at drawing attention to state-backed repression against freedom of faith.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that a senator called the rally at the Capitol in defense of the UOC "Russian propaganda".
