The UOC hierarch officiated the service at the parish of the Pochaiv Icon of the Mother of God and met with the Ukrainian diaspora in France.
On November 30, 2025, Metropolitan Augustine (Markevych) of Bila Tserkva celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the UOC parish of the Pochaiv Icon of the Most Holy Mother of God in Paris. The UOC press service reported this.
Metropolitan Augustine presided over the service with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry. At the close of the Liturgy, the archpastor addressed the faithful with words of support, emphasizing the importance of preserving spiritual and cultural traditions while living abroad. He underscored that the life of Orthodox Christians outside Ukraine demands a special responsibility in bearing witness to Christ.
In his homily, Metropolitan Augustine expressed gratitude to the parishioners for their steadfastness in faith and for their active church life despite the challenges of emigration. He noted that every member of the community is essential for upholding the spirit of unity within the Orthodox Church and maintaining the spiritual continuity of generations. The rector of the parish, Archpriest Mark Mintenko, spoke about the social, humanitarian, and educational work carried out with children and young people through the parish’s efforts.
As the UOJ reported, an Orthodox forum of Ukrainian youth from across Europe recently took place in Leipzig.
