Altars consecrated in churches of Boryspil and Mukachevo UOC Eparchies
Hierarchs of the Boryspil and Mukachevo eparchies consecrated altars and led Liturgies during which the communities prayed for peace and for the defenders of Ukraine.
On November 30, 2025, the 25th Sunday after Pentecost, altars were consecrated in the churches of the Boryspil and Mukachevo eparchies of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This was reported on Metropolitan Anthony’s Facebook page and on the website of the Mukachevo Eparchy’s press service.
In the city of Berezan, Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, the Chancellor of the UOC, performed the consecration of a church in honor of Saint Sophronius, Bishop of Irkutsk. After the rite of consecration, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated, with the metropolitan concelebrated by the deaneries’ clergy, the rector Archpriest Oleksandr Klymenko, the clergy of the Berezan deanery, and visiting clergy. During the service, prayers were offered for peace in Ukraine, and Metropolitan Antony addressed the faithful with an archpastoral message.
That same day, Metropolitan Theodor of Mukachevo and Uzhhorod performed the rite of consecrating a new altar in the Protection Church of the village of Obava in the Mukachevo district. Following the consecration, the archpastor celebrated the Divine Liturgy, during which the faithful also prayed fervently for peace in Ukraine, for an end to hostilities, and for the defenders of the state.
Addressing the parishioners after the service, Metropolitan Theodor expressed gratitude to the rector of the church, Archpriest Ioann Monastyr, and to all parishioners for their labors and selflessness, calling down God’s blessing on all those gathered.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Metropolitan Mark of Khust consecrated an altar in the village of Lypcha.
